Default Why did Cadillac change all their car names to 3 letters?

I had a Deville a few years ago and now they are all like DTS, BTS, CTS?? It used to be a lot easier to know the differences, but now its confusing. Am I the only one that thinks this? Thank you in advance for any answers.
