I do not know. I can guess, however, that it might have something to do with a perceived prestige value in owning a Cadillac. "Stonecutters", as you know, love to flaunt their acquisitions, and are the sponsors of many parades. Ostentation, in fact, appears to be high on their list of priorities. In this way others are enticed to join them and to try to get ahead the same way.
It might also have something to do with nationalism, and the fact that the Cadillac is perceived as an all American car. The Declaration of Independence , as you know, was signed by an amazing number of Freemasons.
It could also be some kind of message that is widely understood among other Freemasons, like their handshakes and greetings. (also like certain entries in the Henderson Directory might be)
