Would be offered in 2008 but after taking 6,000+ orders they now say it could be 10,000? Seems they lead people to believe they would be offering an exclusive product but now willing to sell as many as they can get orders for.
Follow up: Yeah its big business, yeah they need to pay their employees and no I don't expect them to tool up for only 5000 models but thats what the 2009 and beyond model years are for.

The problem is with the ethics of doing this in the first place. Why indicate it would be such a limited run its first year at all. Just make 2008 the first model year and crank out 40,000 of them if thats your intention.

In chatting with my dealer all 2008 will be automatics so I don't have any interest in one - the 2009 will have 6 speeds so that is when I will look into buying

5000 is only the intial run. all delaers will be allocated one. there WILL be more.
