Daewoo is/was the Daewoo Company. It's not "just a brand".

GM bought Daewoo a few years ago, and the company, as a subsidiary of GM, is now known as GM Daewoo.

Now Daewoo vehicles are marketed in the United States as the Suzuki Reno/Forena and Chevrolet Aveo. In other parts of the world, Daewoos are sold as Chevrolets, under models such as Optra.

Today cars branded Daewoo are only sold in Korea and Vietnam.

Last I checked, it was owned by GM.

Daewoo is a South Korean company owned by GM.
