I spoke with a person at a local shop and he says they have to bypass something in the ignition. A lockout chip or something. If I was to have this installed, should I be concerned about car theft?

We have it on our 2006 Chevy. I works, but I am starting to wonder about security and theft. I lost the pog, and got another one from EBay. It worked first time. So if this is the case, someone could get several models, and have a free for all. It won't unlock the steering wheel, but they would be able to do other bad duty to a vehicle.

The part you need is readly available at most auto parts stores,it's designed to bypass your security.
