Default 2003 Lincoln Navigator Gas Miles until Empty ("Miles to E") Problem?

Hello,

When my 2003 Navigator is empty and I put gas in it (around $75 Premium which is a full tank) It shows that I have around 170-175 Miles until it is empty. Why does it only say that small amount? When I first bought the car year ago and when I used to put gas in it it used to say over 200 Miles until empty and I never used to fill up the tank all the way that time. What can be the problem? Also I see other 2003 navigators whose miles until empty gauge shows over 200 when their tank is not even completely filled up. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Thanks in advance

I'm guess the navigator needs a tune up.

check to see what your MPG reading says if it shows really low like less then 10 miles per gallon then there is nothing wrong with your Miles to E. If you are getting 15 MPG and only showing 170 to E then reset everything maybe even disconnect your battery for few minutes or more and see if it will reset.
