My 93 Mazda Protege has had three alternators; charging system still not
functioning. How do I troubleshoot? The car dies at stops, and apparently CAN run off the alternator if the engine is constantly rev'd. However, it's not charging the battery, I've already switched alternators three times, and I still get the error. According to some help, it might be a fusible link, but I've yet to find that location. Also, I think it could be the harness could've pooped out, but again, I'm not sure and don't wanna go slicing and splicing wires and possibly making things worse for no reason.
Also, where is the location of the voltage regulators? Supposedly half of it is inside the alternator, but what about the second half?
This is a 1993 Mazda Protege DX 1.8 5 speed.

(Forgot to mention before, the battery is brandy spanking new, 640 cold turning amps)
