the car runs fine when accelerating or travelling at constant speed, but coughs and splutters and occasionally cuts out when idoling.has been to 2 different mechanics and has had injectors cleaned and spark plugs replaced neither of which solved the problem. any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated

Is the check engine light on? Have you changed the fuel filter? How about the timing?
