prove it. Where can I find a picture? I couldn't find any information online, but I think it was produced before the 1980's, and is probably a predecessor of Golf and Polo.
and it looked just like golf, but i am positive it wasn't dodge or mitsubishi!

are you sure your not talking about the VW Brat? it had a VW rabbit front end with a small truck bed on the back. if that helps your welcome, if on the other hand it doesn't then im sorry
