Default Volkswagen Polo Air Recirculation light stays on - won't turn off - car keeps...

...getting really steamy! help!! Hi,
Please would anyone have any idea. I have a 2004 Volkseagen Polo and the air recirculation light stays on (the yellow arrow one). If I turn it off, it comes back on again after 2-3 seconds. It sounds really easy to fix - anyone have any idea!?

Thank you so much!

There may be internal short-circuiting in the switch itself or faulty switch.Pressing it should engage or disengage the switching circuit, done by an internal spring.
Try and disconnect it (just pull it out), and see if the steaming stops then you know for sure that the recirc button is faulty. Goodluck!
