I think they're so cool...and I want a hatchback. Does it get good gas mileage? Any known problems? Looking for personal experience, not facts off of a website. Thanks!

Golf is a very good car. Driven all over Europe due to it's great economy as far as gas is concerned and such. I have personal experiance with the car and can tell you that it's great. I love it. Also you have to realize that it comes in different models. The R32 model (about $30,000 base price) is probably the best choice. It gives a whole new meaning to the word Hatchback. It looks great and it's fast. 241 horsepower all wheel drive. No problems with the car. I guarantee that you will be satisfied if you go with any kind of Golf.

(If you want to save gas, get yourself a manual, not an automatic)

I have a VW Golf GTTDI 52 Reg, had it for 2 years with no problems at all. Would recommend to anyone.

I have a 2003 VW Golf GL TDI, I love it, 52 mpg, great ride, nothing to complain about at all, wouldn't trade it for anything. The price has gone up though, and they are hard to come by in my neck of the woods.

They're freakin' awesome but the side molding falls off every time.
