Default Are VW Jettas good cars?

the bank officer told me that Jetta buyers are usually happy for a few months but then there are many problems that turn them to disappointment. Is that true?

VWs run for a while. I have a 99. The manuals are good, but the automatics seem to have an ignition problem, which, if you've ever seen the vw key, it can get expensive to fix.
