Default Is it bad if I leave my car unattended when changing oil?

Whenever I change my oil, I usually leave it overnight so that I can get as much oil out as possible. Is this really necessary to do? And by doing so, am I putting my engine in danger by allowing foreign material to possibly enter the drain hole?

it doesnt matter. but yeah leaving it open could lead to problems. you can just put new oil in, new filter, close the cap and you're done.
