yeah, i have, and like its older stuff, it sucks. they just sound awful, and distort easily. i'd stear clear.

sony makes great video game systems, just not car audio.

good luck

Actually, you've got it backwards... The older ES stuff was great, but the Xplod stuff does just that... explode lol.

I don't recommend them.

I agree with metalman, their videogames is about all they've got going for them now. Just not car audio. My $0.02.

every make including sony makes decent equipment. if it has a known name brand like the ones you have heard of, pioneer, sony, clarion, JL, kenwood, ect... then they make good equipment then and they do today! its all down to personal taste. if a radio has the features you want and looks nice to you and the name doesnt sound like something you would order in your local chinese takeout, then its a good buy.
I have judged soundoffs where someone with a pyramid system totaly beat out a guy with a pioneer and a girl with a full alpine system! they man knew what he was doing and made it work for him!

lets say this i got a deck, 2 ten inch subs, a 1000 watt amp to power those subs, and 2 6x9's. and its all sony. i didnt have enough money to buy kicker or other stuff.

sony is not the best out there for sure. but it gets the job done. i like the way it sounds and FEELS inside the car.
its all about how you hook everything up. if you dont have big enough gage for your speakers and such then it will not sound as good.

ok im gonna say that sony is good. I LIKE SONY!!!!

Sony has actually stepped up to the plate by going CEA-2006 compliant. I haven't had any problems with my 3 year old Xplod amp.

I am not a fan of Sony. Only their much older stuff was any good and not any xplod products. I have heard some of their newer amps are suppose to be ok. That is because they are CEA-2006 compliant which means their power ratings are correct.
