Default Is it safe to wash your car in freezing temperatures?

I know, DUMB question, you can see why I don't want to ask anyone I know. I live in the Twin Cities, Minnesota where the average winter temp is around 15F (-9C). Obviously road salt is horrible for cars & mine looks awful. However, searching the web all it seems to say is wash your car when it's 40F (4C) & above, after it says to wash your car every 10 days or so. It won't be that warm here for at least 3 months, so how should I get my car clean? Do I just go through the car wash and make sure I park it in the sun? And stick keys in the locks and open and close the doors every two seconds to make sure I don't get frozen out?
