Audi A6 4.2 Quattro Radiator temp?
Hi all,
I have an Audi A6 4.2 V8 Quattro. I spotted in june a small radiator hose leading to the expansion tank was leaking. I have since replaced with an audi part and also replaced the expansion tank.
Since then i have noticed that the temperature of the car according to the gauge takes longer to warm up also once warmed up putting the heater on will cool the temperature on the guage lower that it should. It should get up to 90C and stay til the engine is off and cooling begins. Instead while drivin the temperature gets to 90C eventually then when i coast the car or put the heater on the temperature drops to 70C You can feel the heater air cool at the same time.
I have since then had the Thermostat, Water pump, and 2 temperature sensors replaced.
I have run out of things to fix that could cause this.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Cheers
It could be an air lock. The possibility is there. I have had the system flushed by 2 garages and 1 was an audi specialist.
I am not to sure its the radiator though as i think the problem is the opposite.
I cant keep the temperature normal its always dropping and the temperature wont rise about its normal temperature.
I will have a look at the bleeding procedure for the cooling system see if i can do something with it.
