My Audi a4 98 that i have been haveing provlems with when i get gas and start it

after wards it will spit and? then will quit. i have to hold that throttle the the floor to get it to start but i have noticed that starts doing it when the inside flap that the gas nosel goes through when that seal is opened that is when it starts to spit and sputter and then quit i am not sure where to go with it. Please help
