im a newbie with bmw's! i think i messed up the radio. suddenly the searching TP came out. then the light from the screen wont light up anymore. how do i take that searching TP off and how do i put the light back on? please helpPPP!!

TP stands for Traffic Program. It's a part of the RDS (Radio Data System) of the radio, where, in countries that support this, your radio will interrupt your CD or other music to play the traffic announcement.

TP needs a special signal from the radio stations, and the radio would need to lock in to a TP signal in order to work.

To disable TP, you either just need to turn of RDS or TP button.

Not sure why your backlight went off though...
