Default What is the difference with Automatic Air Con and Auto A/C with Extended

features in BMW 5 series? I'm confused. In the base BMW 520d (e60 latest model) there are what look like manual switches that control the ventilation system in the car, with one temperature knob, a fan speed knob and a outlet selection knob. But in the more advanced models such as the 525d, 523i etc, they have Automatic air conditioning with Extended features. That ventilation system has different control knobs and more switches to choose from such as on two temperature knobs, one fan knob and buttons in the knobs. So are the normal circular switches you see in a manual ventilation car any different to the ones in the basic 520d?
